Do you have current or previous experience in working in a busy customer facing environment and providing essential administrative support to a team?

Waverley’s Housing Options Team provides housing advice to Waverley’s residents.  The team has been very successful in preventing our residents from becoming homeless.   We are looking for someone to join our team as a Housing Options Co-ordinator.

The Housing Options Co-ordinator plays a key role in the team’s success by registering and assessing housing applications for the Council’s Housing Register and offering initial housing options advice to customers.  We are looking for someone with great organisational and people skills, who is able to assess  complicated information  and is flexible  to adapt to competing priorities quickly.  You will need to learn quickly and work accurately.  You will relish dealing with tricky or unexpected situations and your persistent attitude will be matched by a calm and collected outlook.   You will also have great keyboard, IT and administrative skills and will provide essential administrative support to the team.  We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer care, be sensitive to customer need but still ask searching questions when necessary.

We are an ambitious, dynamic and innovative local authority, proud of being one of the highest performing Councils in the country. Key to our success is our commitment to team working and ongoing development of our high performing, highly engaged workforce, who all share in the delivery of the organisation’s values and corporate objectives.

The borough of Waverley is a beautiful place, consistently rated as one of the best places in the Country to live and to work. The borough is within easy reach of London and the south coast.

Waverley takes a robust approach to thoroughly checking anyone who wants to work with children or vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be required to apply for a Disclosure at the Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.  Further information can be obtained from www.disclosure.gov.uk.

The role will be mainly office based, but we will need candidates to have the ability to effectively work from home, when required.
