We are recruiting a GIS and Planning Data Officer in the Planning Support Team.

About the role

You will take responsibility for the provision and maintenance of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) together with providing training, administration, analysis and best use of GIS data throughout the authority.

You will work with partner authorities on joint GIS services and the publication of Open Data, and to be the Council’s main point of contact for Emergency Planning.

About you

  • You will have knowledge of GIS data management and an understanding of spatial data and metadata standards
  • You will be experienced in delivering great customer service and have a meticulous attention to detail and analytical aptitude
  • You need to be able to handle multiple task threads at the same time, as well as being able to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to maintain accurate administrative records is essential
