Woking Borough Council are seeking an Assistant Cook to cover sickness, holidays and events across our four kitchens in the Community Meals Service (St Marys in Byfleet, Moorcroft in Old Woking, The Vyne in Knaphill, and Brockhill in Goldsworth Park). 

Our Assistant Cooks assist our Head Cooks in providing a lunch time and coffee bar service, ordering and maintenance of appropriate stock levels, ensuring the kitchen cleaning schedule is adhered to.

The ideal candidate will:

  • have experience of working in a commercial kitchen
  • have experience in working to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • be enthusiastic about producing well cooked and presented food.

As this job involves contact with vulnerable groups, successful applicants will be required to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Woking Borough Council take a robust approach to thoroughly checking anyone who has applied to work with vulnerable groups.
