About the Role
Reigate & Banstead is a high performing recycling council, and we are looking for a dynamic person who has drive and passion for improving household recycling. This role offers an opportunity to work with property managers and residents in the borough, and also alongside the Council’s recycling officer. This is a fixed term contract to review, analyse and recommend the provision of recycling to flats (which is a priority of the Councils’ Executive). The role will require that the individual can work independently visiting properties and within a team in the office. It will require working in the open air and in the office environment.
Good written, spoken communications and IT (particularly use of Word / Excel, and quick to learn other bespoke council software) skills are essential. You will also need to be comfortable and confident with internal and external audiences.
If you have an analytical mind, with an attention to detail, and you are an enthusiastic, dynamic self-starter and can hit the ground running, we’re keen to hear from you.
A full UK/EU driving licence is essential to the role. It would also be an advantage if you have had experience with a local authority and relevant experience in Waste Management.
In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of employment linked benefits.
We provide you with competitive annual leave, and contribute 15% towards the LGPS pension scheme. You will also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
For an informal discussion about the role, please call Ian Muir, Recycling Officer, on 01737 276097.
We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, supporting the guaranteed interview scheme for disabled and ex-armed forces candidates, who meet the essential criteria for the role.
Closing date: 14 July 2019
Interview date: 24 or 25 July 2019
