Are you a Customer Service professional looking for the next step in your career with an ambitious and innovative Council? Are you passionate about delivering a first-class service experience to your customers? If you are, then Runnymede Borough Council would like to hear from you.

We are looking for a full-time Senior Customer Service Advisor to join our Customer Services Team based at the Civic Centre in the heart of Addlestone’s regenerated town centre. Here you will oversee a team committed to helping customers with their enquiries and supporting them when they access council services. As the first point of contact for most customers you will also become ambassadors for the council, demonstrating the passion for innovation that has made Runnymede successful.

The post-holder will support the Customer Services Manager with the day to day operational management of the Customer Service Advisers. In addition, you would be responsible for dealing with the more complicated enquiries from customers and act as first point of contact for dealing with customer complaints. The successful applicant will work closely with the senior staff within the division, partners and other colleagues to drive business transformation to support service improvement, challenging existing service delivery models and championing new ideas.

You will be working in a fast- paced and demanding environment, so it is important that you are well organised and resilient, can remain calm, focussed, and professional irrespective of whether you are handling enquiries over the telephone, in person at the Civic Centre, or by e-mail or post.

You will be handling enquiries across a broad range of Council services, and will receive specific training that will enable you to handle some services in more depth. You will specialise in Housing, Council Tax, Refuse & Recycling, Environmental Health and Leisure areas. We are therefore particularly interested in receiving applications from those with experience handling a variety of local authority services with other Councils.

If you think that you have what it takes to excel in this role then we’d like to hear from you.
