We are seeking a motivated individual who is looking for a challenge working within a progressive and commercially focused Community Alarm and Telecare service.

Based at the Civic Centre in Addlestone, you will work across Runnymede Borough, providing Community Alarm and Telecare services as well as additional advice and support to some of Runnymede’s most vulnerable residents. In addition, you may from time to time be required to work in other parts of the County.

The Community Alarm and Telecare service offers a range of solutions to assist residents in continuing to live independently within their home and to remain active within their local community. As well as the basic Community Alarm service, a range of Telecare sensors can be provided which are all linked to our monitoring centre in Safer Runnymede. These include linked smoke and gas detectors, falls detectors, bed and chair sensors and medication dispensers. The service also provides a GPS Location service, providing support to customers who are potentially vulnerable when out in their local community.

To succeed in the role, you will need to be able to be flexible in your approach to meet the demands of customers and have a passion for working in a service area that operates to improve the ability of residents to continue to live independently. You will need to have an interest in the use of technology and be committed to ongoing development in your knowledge and understanding of technology as it develops.

You will need to be organized and have good verbal and written communication skills. An understanding of the needs of older people, who are the main beneficiaries of the service as well as other possible groups of service users is essential. You will also need to be experienced in working with a range of interested parties including customers’ next of kin, social care and health professionals and staff from other departments within the Council.

As part of the role, together with colleagues you will be required to form part of the out of hours Rota, providing support to equipment failure and faults. An enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role. You must have a full driving licence and a vehicle available for work purposes, and be fully aware of health and safety requirements.
