£29,274 - £36,068 (inclusive of 1 July 19 increase)
depending on experience
An exciting opportunity has opened up within the Exchequer Services team for an experienced manager to develop the Council’s sales ledger/accounts receivable processes and be at the forefront in the implementation of a new income management system.
Reporting to the Exchequer Services Manager the successful candidate will be managing the Income and Debtors team so previous management or supervisory experience is essential. The Council raised and collected £31million of debts last year so the successful candidate will have had previous experience in the billing and collection of debts or dealing with the management of income and reconciliations. We have recently purchased a new income management system so previous experience in implementation and training on new IT systems would be an advantage. Knowledge and understanding of Card payment security (PCIDSS) is desirable as card payments are one of the largest methods accepted. We are therefore particularly interested in receiving applications from those with any or all of the above experience.
You will be working in a small but busy team so it is important that you are well organised, adaptable and able to learn quickly. You will be expected to make appropriate decisions and work with a minimum of supervision. You will be dealing with customers over the phone, in writing and face to face and must be able to discuss debts and negotiate payments whilst maintaining a high level of customer service. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide cover for their team and the Exchequer Services Manger during absences.
