We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our Community Transport Team as a Community Services Driver on a casual basis.

You will be required to provide door to door transport to various groups of people living in Runnymede, including older people, people with physical disabilities and children with special educational needs. Suitable candidates will need to have both practical skills and be sensitive to the needs and requirements of individuals using the service. Experience of working with different client groups would be desirable.

Our Transport Service is provided using fully accessible minibuses of up to 16 seats, so experience of driving minibuses or other vehicles of similar size or bigger is desirable, although not essential. In order to be able to drive our fleet of vehicles, you will need to have a D1 category on your driving license, or have passed your driving test prior to January 1997.

As you will be working regularly with members of the public, the ability to work with a positive approach, be flexible to meet the needs of each individual and work with a welcoming approach and a sense of humor is essential. Being a casual position, work will be available on an as and when basis to support the service, based around your availability and therefore the position offers flexibility in regards to the commitment you are able to offer.

There may on occasions, be the potential to also support our Community Meals Service with the delivery of hot meals to vulnerable residents at home. If you are a committed, self-motivated person with a desire to support Runnymede Borough Council in providing valuable services to our Runnymede residents, we would be keen to hear from you.

Full training will be provided. For more information on these posts or the service in general, please contact Jayne Williams on 01932 425875 or by emailing communitytransport@runnymede.gov.uk
