Do you have a love of history? Are you passionate about education? Chertsey Museum is seeking an Educational Assistant to help deliver and expand their award-winning education service.

 

The successful candidate will be required to deliver sessions on a range of subjects that support the National Curriculum using objects from the Museum’s collection. Sessions will last from 1 to 3 hours and be held at the Museum and at local Schools within the Runnymede Borough and surrounding areas.

 

When not delivering educational sessions, the post holder will play a key supporting role assisting the Education Officers with current Museum projects.

 

You will need to have previous experience of working with Children and an enthusiastic approach to learning. Previous experience in delivering education sessions and handling collection objects would be advantageous.

 

Excellent communication and customer services skills are essential along with confidence in public speaking. We also require the post holder to be flexible and reliable.

 

As this post involves travelling to schools you will need to hold a full valid driving licence and have use of a vehicle for this purpose. You will also be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

 

Starting in September 2019, this post is to be worked term time only over 27 weeks per annum. Ideally the hours should be worked over three days per week. If you have any questions about the post please call the curator on 01932 575370.
