Runnymede Borough Council has an exciting opportunity in our ever evolving Community Services Business Centre and we are looking for a highly motivated and professional Community Service Manager, with a proven track record of working effectively in partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Runnymede Borough Council Community Services provides a range of services including Community Transport, Day Centres, Meals, Community Alarm and Telecare, Social Prescribing and a Home Improvement Agency to residents of Runnymede. The Community Services Business Centre also works in partnership with Surrey Heath Borough Council delivering consistent levels of services across two Surrey boroughs.
You would report to the Head of Community Services and be responsible for leading the operational delivery of Community Services to residents, through a combination of management support provided to service managers and supervisors, as well as having direct management responsibility for some service areas. In particular, you will directly manage the Home Improvement Agency and Social Prescribing service in Runnymede.
If you have experience in being responsible for all aspects of operational service delivery, as well as having experience of developing new services and implementing new projects to support Community Services coupled with the enthusiasm to provide our residents an impeccable service then this job is for you. Runnymede are also expanding its offer within existing services and in providing new services to residents of all ages, in order to support them in continuing to live independently at home and remain active within their local community.
The successful candidate will be required to manage teams of staff, providing both day to day direction and support as well as undertaking formal performance management processes including supervision meetings and appraisals. Experience in the management of assets is desirable given that you will be responsible for a number of council buildings and a fleet of vehicles.
The role includes deputising for the Head of Community Services as and when required and to work in partnership with others including Adult Social Care, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other borough councils. Therefore experience in leadership and in working in partnership is desirable.
