The Green Space Contracts Officer has an important role in helping the team maintain the high quality of parks and open spaces that Runnymede’s residents and visitors enjoy.

The main responsibilities will be the day to day management and administration of a range of maintenance contracts relating to the Councils parks and open spaces and ensuring that the contractor is delivering the quality of work required.  This would involve attending meetings with contractors, inspecting their work, issuing them with instructions and improvement notices and dealing with other contract administration.

You would also support the rest of the team by taking phone calls, assisting with the preparation of new contracts or tenders, suggesting ways to improve the Council’s parks and open spaces, helping us keep our webpages up to date and will be involved in managing concessions, licences and other agreements relevant to green spaces.

You will need to demonstrate experience in managing and administering grounds maintenance contracts from the client side and will need to have an understanding of the processes involved in tendering for work in a local authority context.
