Runnymede Borough Council is looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join a small team of committed staff at the Woodham and New Haw Centre for Older People in Addlestone.

As part of this role you will be expected to support the provision of a welcoming, vibrant facility for residents from New Haw and the surrounding area, offering a range of engaging and innovative services and activities to people whilst at the Centre.

You will have previous experience of working with and an understanding of the needs of older people. You will provide assistance to visitors accessing the centres facilities to enable personal care if required, therefore it is essential you have well-developed people skills, patience and the ability to empathise.

In addition, you will deputise for the Centre Manager in their absence and be responsible for the smooth running of the Centre, including managing a team of staff and volunteers. Some experience of managing staff and/or volunteers is required, as is the ability to carry out basic administration tasks. A basic level of IT skill is required.

You will be a flexible and organised team player, able to work on your own initiative and keep calm under pressure.

This role will occasionally involve assisting with providing rest centre facilities in the event of a civil emergency.

As you will be working with vulnerable adults an enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

For an informal discussion about this role, please telephone Margaret Hayes on 01932 355707 or Hayley Andrews 01932 425853.
