Rough Sleeper Coordinator & Outreach Officer
Full time – 36 hours per week 12-month fixed term contract
£29,325 to £31,291 per annum, dependent upon experience, plus essential car user allowance
This is a truly exciting time for Housing at Spelthorne Borough Council. We are developing new affordable housing though our housing company Knowle Green Estates, we are working with our residents, partners and elected members to develop our next five-year strategies on housing and preventing homelessness, and we are in the middle of developing the borough’s new Local Plan.
To add to this, we have recently been awarded grant funding from the Government’s Rough Sleeping Initiative Fund for a Rough Sleeper Coordinator & Outreach Officer, to support local efforts to reduce and ultimately eradiate rough sleeping by 2027.
This exciting new role will initially be for a period of 12 months, however there may be the option to extend the role further if demonstrable success and outcomes are forthcoming. We are therefore seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is ready to take on a challenging but rewarding role in supporting those experiencing or at risk of rough sleeping through a proactive and assertive rough sleeper outreach service.
You will be required to work non-standard hours to successfully fulfil both aspects of the role, so this isn’t your standard ‘9 to 5’ job. You will positively engage with statutory, non-statutory and third-sector agencies to map the availability of services across Spelthorne and the surrounding areas, and support your clients to access these services to ultimately leave the streets for good.
In return we are committed to helping you further your career whilst giving you the opportunity to make your mark, develop your experience and skills.
