Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual with experience of Development Management? Are you looking for an interesting and varied role, with the opportunity to progress a wide range of planning applications and appeals, provide high quality advice to developers and deliver excellent customer service?   

You will have achieved, or be progressing towards, full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) with a recognised degree or equivalent qualification or experience in planning. This post is ideally suited to someone who is looking to broaden their experience in planning within a friendly and supportive growing team. The role offers considerable scope for personal development in terms of the flexibility of the role and the wide scope of work on offer.

You should be able to manage a challenging workload including residential and commercial major developments and prepare robust and well evidenced recommendations within agreed timescales. You should also possess excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills and be able to demonstrate a creative outlook and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficient IT skills, together with experience of using a number of IT packages, are essential.

Epsom and Ewell Borough lies on the ‘spring line’ of the North Downs where chalk meets London Clay. A truly beautiful part of Surrey with rolling countryside and an excellent quality of life. It has excellent transport communications into central London. Epsom, where the Council offices are located, is only 35 minutes from London (Waterloo).
