About the role
The role reports to the Commissioning Manager within the Contracts and Commercial department, and is responsible for for supporting the Council in undertaking outcomes focused, lawful and, commercially sound, commissioning projects to deliver quality and value for money services. To contribute to the effective running of the Council’s corporate Commissioning function. Post holder will work with their manager and colleagues to define outcomes, set targets and monitor performance, within a culture of continual improvement. They will build strong internal and external working partnerships to enable the service to be delivered in an outcome-focused and efficient way.
We are looking for a candidate with experience and a proven track record of achievement in commissioning and procurement focused services. Our candidate is someone who can work successfully with key stakeholders including partner organisations and other public services and must demonstrate significant relevant experience, and be committed to sharing their knowledge, developing others, and managing others as part of matrix teams where appropriate.
The ideal candidate will be have or be working towards a degree or relevant professional qualification, preferably Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), be politically astute and able to build high levels of credibility, and make an impact quickly.
