Adult Social Care & Health
About the role
East Sussex County Council is fulfilling a vision to provide the very best support and services to our residents and is committed to the ongoing development of our offer and continued improvement in everything we do. A key area of our work, partnered by our three clinical commissioning groups, is to put in place a fully-integrated health and social care system that enables collective decision-making within our local health and social care economy, currently worth more than £1 billion a year.
Our vision is for every client, patient and carer to enjoy proactive, joined-up care that supports them to live as independently as possible and achieve the best possible outcomes. We will achieve this by developing creative solutions and supporting our provider market to offer innovative services.
This Assistant Director of Planning, Performance & Engagement role is absolutely critical to enable us to move forward as council and in partnership with all of our stakeholders.
In this holistic senior leadership role, you will as part of a team take responsibility for the strategic management of Adult Social Care, contribute to the leadership within the Council as a whole and work closely with NHS partners on our integration plans. Your main focus of work will be on performance, planning, engagement and community safety.
You will take an evidenced based approach to overseeing the collective planning of our Adult Social Care and Health services, along with other stakeholder organisations. In doing this, you will ensure our collective offer is coherent, adaptable and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
Your previous experience working in a large complex organisation will equip you to successfully manage the significant remit, budget and complexity of this role. You will also have a natural ability to assimilate a wide range of information from a number of sources and refine this into a single, coherent, strategic plan. Whilst it isn’t essential to have worked across health and social care, you will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the services involved and the demands placed upon them.
You will also be expected to have significant relevant management experience and be able to demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development.
For the right candidate, this role is a unique opportunity not only to shape your own work, but also the entire future of how social care is delivered in East Sussex and beyond.
We wish to make the application process as straightforward as possible, so we just ask that you complete our online application form providing further information against a couple of specific questions.
Please also attach your current CV to further support your application.
