Group Commander – Assurance


As a Group Commander, you’ll lead our Assurance team. Your main tasks will include:

  • Leading and coordinating Organisational Learning. This includes the Strategic Gap Analysis (SGA), planning and embedding of National Operational Guidance (NOG), Fire Standards implementation and HMICFRS inspection.
  • Overseeing the development and review of Policies and Guidance
  • Developing assurance processes including deep dives and reality testing service wide.
  • Overseeing Fire Standards implementation.
  • Providing the assurance framework on Incident Monitoring / Organisational learning.
  • Working with stakeholders to drive improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Assurance team.
  • Ensure compliance with national fire standards, the strategic gap analysis, and National Operational Guidance.
  • Provide advice and challenge on fire standards and compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote best practices.
  • Assure service improvement through established processes.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in an assurance role is advantageous
  • Knowledge of operational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent Leadership and management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
