Salary - £20,739 – £21,489 per annum

We are seeking a self-motivated, team player, who uses their own initiative, takes pride in their work and wants to join a dedicated team. The Amenity Horticulture Team are responsible for maintaining the parks and open spaces throughout the borough to green flag standards and carrying out contractual works including highways verge maintenance using various machinery, tools and equipment.
Between £20,739 - £21,489 per annum. Working 41 hours in the summer and 29 hours in the winter, you will be paid 37 hours pro-rata.
To be shortlisted for interview your application should clearly evidence
General standard of education to secondary level or equivalent
City & Guilds Horticulture Level 2, NVQ Horticulture Level 3 or equivalent
Experience in grounds maintenance and horticulture
Awareness of the Health and Safety at Work Act
Some relevant management/supervisory experience
Able to operate, maintain and control mowing machinery and a range of powered tools
Good written communication skills with the ability to comply with written instructions
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to understand and comply with verbal instructions
Basic administrative skills with the ability to carry out general administrative tasks such as audit reports, time sheets, stores orders etc.
Aptitude to understand and comply with relevant bylaws
Good organisational skills
Good time management skills with the ability to be punctual and meet deadlines
Good team working skills
Physically capable of undertaking the duties as set out in the job description, which may include lifting pedestrian mowers
Willingness to undertake training on a wide range of grounds maintenance equipment to ensure the services contractual obligations can be met
Hold a valid driving licence
