Hours being between 7am and 7pm

Runnymede Borough Council is looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join its Community Services team as a Community Services Operator, for both the Community Transport and Meals at Home services.

You will be required to provide door to door transport to various groups of people living in Runnymede, including older people, people with physical disabilities and children with special educational needs. In addition you will be responsible for delivering meals to some of the boroughs most vulnerable residents on a daily basis, checking on their welfare in doing so. You will need to have both practical skills and be sensitive to the needs and requirements of individuals using the service. Experience of working with different client groups would be desirable.

Our Transport Service is provided using fully accessible minibuses of up to 16 seats, so experience of driving minibuses or other vehicles of similar size or bigger is desirable, although not essential. In order to be able to drive our fleet of vehicles, you will need to have a D1 category on your driving licence, or have passed your driving test prior to January 1997. Our Meals at Home service is operated using a fleet of specially adapted Ford Connect vans.

As you will be working with members of the public on a daily basis, the ability to work with a positive approach, be flexible to meet the needs of each individual and work with a welcoming approach and a sense of humor is essential.

If you are a committed, self-motivated person with a desire to support Runnymede Borough Council in providing valuable services to our Runnymede residents, we would be keen to hear from you.

Full training will be provided.

For more information about this role or the service in general, please contact Jayne Williams on 01932 425875 or by emailing Jayne.Williams@runnymede.gov.uk.

Interview date is to be confirmed.
