Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity tackling environmental issues?
This role will help support the management of the joint waste collection and street cleansing contract, driving service improvements and helping residents to understand the recycling service, overcoming any issues they may experience and avoid contaminating their recycling.
At Joint Waste Solutions (JWS), there is an East operations team, managing the services in Elmbridge and Mole Valley and a West operations team who manage services for Surrey Heath and Woking Borough Councils.
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of the public by checking the service providers’ staff are complying with the safe systems of work and by conducting crew checks. While ensuring civic pride through monitoring street cleaning, reporting defective levels of cleanliness, and following up to ensure the issue has been rectified.
The successful candidate will have experience of monitoring contracts and using performance management systems as well as experience of providing a good standard of customer care. An understanding of environmental issues as well as a knowledge of health and safety legislation is beneficial but not essential. You’ll need excellent verbal and written communications skills, be able to get involved in a range of projects and deliver them to deadline, as well as a methodological approach to information gathering, recording and reporting.
This vacancy with the West Operations team (Surrey Heath and Woking) is a permanent, part-time position of 22 hours with flexibility to fulfil these hours across the working week.
