Position: Head of Communications and Engagement
Hours: 37 per week
Salary Range: £51,289 - £56,828 per annum
Are you a senior communications and engagement professional with a passion for environmental issues?
This new role will lead the communications and engagement function for Joint Waste Solutions, the team that delivers recycling improvement work on behalf of a partnership that includes all of Surrey’s councils and manages a £13.5m waste and street cleaning collection contract on behalf of four partners.
You will develop the strategy for how we will improve performance by successfully communicating and engaging with residents, staff, stakeholders and the media, as well as being responsible for developing our brand, protecting our reputation and advising on the management of issues. You will also be part of the senior leadership team that is collectively responsible for the successful management, development and growth of the organisation.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working at senior management level in a communications role with responsibility for managing, motivating and developing a team. Experience of providing strategic advice to board directors and/or elected members is also essential, as is extensive knowledge and experience of using a range of marketing communications channels.
