At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

We are looking for an experienced Cemetery Manager to lead a small, dedicated team.

You will be responsible for the first-class delivery of cemetery services in Epsom Cemetery and two closed churchyards in the borough, ensuring a high quality and compassionate service for the bereaved.

As the main point of contact for our customers, you will be required to help them navigate our services during an emotionally charged period of their lives.

You will also be responsible for the supervision of an experienced team of grounds maintenance staff to ensure that Epsom Cemetery and the closed churchyards are well maintained.

In addition to excellent administrative, budgetary, and supervisory skills, you will ideally hold an ICCM qualification in Cemetery Law and be willing to undertake industry-specific training.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive organisation with a reputation of excellent service delivery, encouraging innovation and new ways of working, in a borough that is consistently judged as one of the best places to live in the country.

If you have the enthusiasm and determination to deliver an exceptional service, drive change and embrace the use of technology to improve efficiency, then we would like to hear from you.  In return you will benefit from 24 days annual leave, subsidised gym membership, entitlement to join the local government pension scheme, and non-contributory life assurance.

This role is a job share 28.8 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

For an informal discussion please contact Fiona Farrell, Cemetery Manager on FFarrell@epsom-ewell.gov.uk.
