About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and empathetic person to join our Housing team.

As an IRL Manager you will deliver a high quality service to residents in one of our five Independent Retirement Living Housing schemes in New Haw. You will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for residents whilst promoting independence and encouraging social engagement. You will be the key contact for residents to assist with their enquiries and be responsible for creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

You will develop social activities at the scheme; build professional relationships with residents, their families and the Council’s partner agencies; and work within the tenancy services team to delivery an excellent service and contribute to the improvement of customer satisfaction.

About you

You will:

  • enjoy working with people and developing successful professional relationships with tenants, colleagues and external agencies.
  • have excellent communication skills, as the role requires you to liaise with residents, their families, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure their individual needs are met.
  • understand the needs of older people so you can provide support, advice, assistance and promote choices to enable residents to continue to live independently within their local community.
  • be able to work on your own and use your initiative to deal with difficult situations, and work as part of a wider IRL and tenancy services team
  • be familiar with safeguarding and domestic abuse procedures
