About the role

The Senior Arboricultural Officer shall

  • Manage the delivery of projects, such as the surveying of the Council’s entire tree stock during 2025
  • Manage the maintenance of the Council’s tree stock in a safe, affordable and efficient way
  • Write reports, and formulate policies and strategies
  • Lead on Tenders
  • Manage contractors
  • Manage Health & Safety for service area
  • Manage tree planting
  • Manage funding applications
  • Manage the tree database
  • Supervise one Arboricultural Officer

About you

  • We are looking for someone who is certified to level 4 in arboriculture, with a Lantra tree Inspection qualification and preferably a degree in Forestry management
  • With good working knowledge on legislation and best practices on tree management
  • Has an established network of contacts within the sector
  • Has previous experience in funding applications and tree planting
  • And can manage tenders, projects, and contractors
