Are you an ambitious benefits professional looking for a new challenge? For the right person, this is an exciting opportunity to join our small and dynamic in-house team.

For our team, every day is different, with a variety of work to engage your existing skills and develop new ones. Our Benefit Officers are all-rounders, critical to the delivery of all aspects of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support assessment, including:

- New applications

- Changes in circumstance

- Underlying entitlement

To be successful you will require proven experience of having assessed Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims within the last 12 months, along with a strong understanding of the evolving landscape of Housing Benefit including Universal Credit and supported and temporary accommodation. We use Academy benefits software and NEC document management, experience of these would be advantageous.

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a dedicated team and takes pride in delivering first class service.

In return, you will benefit from a supportive and collaborative working environment, hybrid working arrangements, 24 days annual leave (rising to 29 after 5 years’ service), subsidised gym membership and car parking, payment of professional fees, entitlement to join the local government pension scheme, and non-contributory life assurance.

If this sounds like the ideal opportunity for you, we look forward to receiving your application.
