Are you a vibrant, engaging, committed and resilient individual who is passionate about community work? If the answer is “yes” then we’d love hear from you!

We have a vacancy for a Community Engagement Advisor within our Community Wellbeing Team.

As a Community Engagement Advisor, you will develop, strengthen and empower communities within Guildford borough. You will be out in the community so that you can develop, and at times lead, community-based initiatives that help communities become more resilient. You will be actively engaging communities in making sense of the issues that affect their lives and help them set goals for improvement, bringing about social change, and improving the quality of life in their local area. We would want you in the role to:

  • Develop community groups, focus groups and resources to promote community participation
  • Support vulnerable people to live well in their community
  • Plan and deliver events that involve communities of less advantage to promote wellbeing and social inclusion
  • Ensure that local people have their say by facilitating meetings, focus groups and drop in sessions about key issues that are important to them
  • Work in partnership with other voluntary and charity organisations to help promote community wellbeing

What is most important for this role is a desire to help communities and the ability to empathise and be compassionate about the issues people in our communities face.

Experience is not as important as the will to learn and to strive to make other people's lives better.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 4th February 2025
