Temporary Accommodation Co-ordinator – Private Rented Sector and Temporary Accommodation Team

Based at the Civic Centre in Esher, an exciting opportunity has arisen working within the busy Housing Options Unit, helping to co-ordinate move on arrangements for homeless householdsThe team are responsible for two services, securing good, affordable privately rented homes for households who are threatened with homelessness and providing emergency placements and liaising with hotel providers.  This is an interesting and varied role helping the Council to meet its obligations to those who are homeless and will involve dealing with registered social providers and private landlords, placing households threatened with homeless and nominating tenants for available properties, making telephone contact, face to face and email.

We need someone who is well organised, has strong administration and interpersonal skills, be able to update databases and other records, able to collate statistics with the ability to deal with routine enquiries for the team. You will be numerate and IT literate having experience of using a range of packages.

You will have experience of dealing with the public and delivering a frontline customer orientated service and will need to possess well developed verbal communication skills being able to write effective correspondence.

You must have a flexible approach to work with the ability to work on your own initiative as this is a small team and work patterns are not routine.
