Environmental Health Officer
Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, and experienced individual to join our busy and friendly environmental health team.
Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, you will primarily be focused on food safety including carrying out inspections, investigating complaints and reports of food poisoning. As it is a food role, the successful candidate will need to meet the minimum competency requirements laid down in the Food Law Code of Practice. However, we will still consider otherwise strong candidates who can demonstrate they can meet these requirements in a short timeframe.
Whilst the focus is on food hygiene, we are committed to support you in contributing to some of the other areas of environmental health such as health and safety, pollution control and housing. If it’s been a while, or these are not areas you have previously encountered, we will provide training and assistance to help you.
Epsom & Ewell is one of the smaller councils but we are not afraid to tackle the big issues. Our compact size means you will have the opportunity to make a large contribution and take a lead role on projects and initiatives.
In return you will benefit from 24 days annual leave, a range of discounts, subsidised gym membership and car parking, payment of professional fees and entitlement to join the local government pension scheme.
