Join a dynamic, multi-agency working environment dedicated to making a difference to the lives of disabled people.  The Grants and Adaptions Support Officer is an administrative support role that plays a vital part in ensuring the Council’s aids and adaptions service runs smoothly and efficiently.

The role

Working directly to the Grants and Adaptions Manager, this role is perfect for someone who excels at managing detailed tasks, is precise and accurate with numbers and finance, and is highly organised and methodical, with the ability to independently manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.  If you’re comfortable collaborating through hybrid working and enjoy taking ownership of your responsibilities, this position could be the ideal fit for you.

On a typical day you will accurately maintain data for the collation of statistics, update systems, process payments to contractors and arrange purchase orders.  You’ll also be responsible for electronic filing, responding to queries from Occupational Therapists and the Council’s outsourced Home Improvement Agency, as well as arranging and providing note taking at on-line meetings.

You’ll be expected to continuously improve working processes and problem solve to find solutions using your attention to detail and resourceful and flexible approach.  Confidence in using databases and Microsoft software is essential.  If you’re ready to use these skills to make a meaningful impact at work, we’d love to hear from you.

When you join us your expertise/skills/experience will be valued and your career development will be our priority.

We are committed to creating a collaborative and innovative environment which empowers our employees/you to thrive. You will be part of a friendly, supportive One Team culture with the chance to make a real difference.

We believe in balancing hard work with fun. In addition to regular team get togethers, our active social team organises two to three events a year, ranging from Staff Awards, quiz nights to rounders in the park helping the workplace to be productive and enjoyable.

We hold regular face to face meetings, such as Chief Executive briefings to keep you in the loop.

While the role offers hybrid working, this position is based at the Council Offices in Oxted, conveniently located close to Oxted Station and with some on-site parking.

In addition to the stated pay, we offer membership and contributions towards the Local Government Pension Scheme, flexible working, flexi-time, payment of a relevant professional subscription and access to a discounted health scheme.
