£35,593 - £41,110 per annum (37 hours per week) plus benefits

Guildford is situated within the South East of England and is surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty.
We manage approximately 5,150 properties across the borough. Area Housing Managers work in partnership with Community Wardens to create successful and attractive neighbourhoods where people want to live.
Guildford Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Officer (Estates) to join our fantastic neighbourhood estates team.
We are looking for a forward-thinking individual with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and who has a “can do” attitude.
As part of a committed team, you will be responsible for a patch of properties and you will provide an excellent customer-focused service to our residents. By developing local knowledge and establishing partnerships with other agencies, you will aim to meet the needs of both our residents and the community. You will also play a key role in improving the environment in which our residents live.
This post plays an important part in the Council’s intention to provide a high-quality service to its customers. This is a ‘front-line’ post dealing at times with sensitive issues within a pressurised environment. The post holder will be responsible for the management of a defined area within the Councils stock enabling the Council to deliver a comprehensive housing management service, helping to create attractive, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods where people want to live.
Through your experience and knowledge of working in social housing, working with residents and communities, you will have an understanding of working with partner agencies, of neighbourhood management and landlord issues.
In this role, you will work with a wide range of clients. To be successful you will have excellent interpersonal skills, which you combine with a sensitive approach to individual’s circumstances. To be effective you will need good organisational and writing skills.
