At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

The Council has undergone a review of its structure to bring together a range of related disciplines under one Place Making service, including Economic Development, Climate Change, Development Management, Planning Policy and Countryside services. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

Our long-term vision for the Borough tells us where we want to be and how we’re going to get there. This new role will be crucial to delivering that vision and the aspirations of local people, as well as involvement in helping produce and in driving forward key deliverables from our emerging Local Plan.

We are looking for a Planning Development & Enforcement Manager to lead the Council’s planning regulatory and enforcement function, providing high quality professional advice, direction and regulatory decisions which realise the best possible outcomes for residents, the Council and its stakeholders/partner organisations.

With extensive knowledge of the statutory policy and regulatory framework and considerable Planning experience, you will be a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.  Technical expertise is essential; although this must be balanced with a pragmatic, collaborative and human approach.

If you can demonstrate a proven track record in providing effective leadership and management, the drive and energy to continually improve service delivery; as well manage the processing of complex planning applications, we have the next career move for you.

This is an exciting opportunity and a key role for the Council.  If you want an opportunity to shine, this is definitely not a role to pass on!
