Resources Caseworker (Legal Support)
We are seeking to appoint a Resources Caseworker for an interesting, varied and challenging role supporting the work of our Legal department. Working within a team of Caseworkers you will provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative service.
What you need to succeed in this role:
At a minimum, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including good written communication
- Confidence in dealing with people at all levels
- A conscientious attitude with excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- Good time management and the ability to multi task, plan and prioritise work effectively
- A good standard of numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and support the wider team
- The ability to adapt to new systems and processes quickly
- The ability to work independently and use initiative
- Enthusiasm for learning and personal development
It would be great if you also have:
- An interest in Law
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience with case management systems
- An understanding of the importance of GDPR
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Process daily incoming post
- Prepare Legal documents for signing/sealing under instruction from Legal specialists
- Respond to email enquiries from conveyancing solicitors regarding Leaseholder enquiries and remortgage enquiries, co-ordinating the responses from specialists across the organisation
- Maintain and update relevant databases as well as hard copy files
- Process requests for Road closures and issue orders with guidance from specialists
- Review leases to respond to queries, liaising with specialists when required
- Draft legal documentation in relation to granting home improvement loans as well as their redemptions
- Assist with Equity Share Rent Arrear queries
- Order Official Copies from HM Land Registry
- Provide legal support as required for other officers within the Council
- General HR queries, assisting the HR Caseworker when required (logging sickness, probation reports, new starter clearances)
