About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Development Management service. Working alongside the planners, your role will be to provide expert advice on heritage matters and provide urban design input into major and strategic sized developments. Additionally, you will assist or lead with the preparation of masterplans, site specific urban design briefs, design codes, public realm proposals and with policy and design guidance. You will need to report to senior officers and elected members and you will need to liaise with communities, advisory bodies and developers to enable the delivery of sustainable development in Surrey Heath.
This role will sit within Development Management but will assist with ongoing design policy work in the Planning Policy Team. These teams deliver a range of services including managing planning applications and Listed Building Consents, providing specialist consultation advice, and overseeing the delivery of policy documents. This post is part of Planning Service which leads on sustainable change and growth in Surrey Heath.
We are seeking someone, who is creative, forward thinking, ambitious and they have excellent design skills which will capture the ambition of the Council and the future regeneration and policy agendas for the Borough.
