Working Pattern: Full Time, 36 hours per week
Contract: 2-year Fixed Term Contract
About the Role
Reigate & Banstead is a Local Authority delivering a high performing Waste & Recycling Service. We are looking for a dynamic person to join our friendly team, who has the drive and passion to support further improvements to household recycling.
This is a two-year fixed term contract supporting our existing Recycling Officer and Waste team, to complete the rollout to the properties in the borough, that currently don’t have the full recycling service, in line with the requirements and timescales of the Simpler Recycling reforms.
The appointment will require the applicant to create a working relationship with property managers (social landlords and private sector), analyse, recommend, and implement the provision of the full recycling services to these properties.
This project is one of the priority projects for the council, with full support of senior management and Members. The position will require that the individual can work independently visiting properties and within a team in the office. It will require working in the open air and in the office environment.
Supporting the existing Recycling Officer with procurement and data input and analysis will also be required.
Experience of working within the recycling industry is required and specific recycling experience within a Local Authority would be preferred, however is not essential.
Good written & spoken communications and ICT skills are essential. You will also need to be comfortable and confident with internal and external audiences, including Officer, Senior Managers and Members.
If you have an analytical mind, with an attention to detail, who is an enthusiastic, dynamic self-starter and can hit the ground running, we’re keen to hear from you.
A full UK/EU driving licence is essential to the role.
Staff Benefits
In exchange for your expertise, experience, and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of employment linked benefits.
We provide you with competitive annual leave and contribute 15% towards the LGPS pension scheme. You will also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
