Salary £34,125 - £41,497pa
Spelthorne Borough Council is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual to support the delivery of a Climate Change Strategy for Spelthorne alongside key actions in the corporate plan where environment is a key priority.
Working with the Council’s Group Head Commissioning and Transformation and the Sustainability/Projects team, the Climate Change Officer will have the opportunity to influence the Council’s response to climate change through the implementing the Strategy its associated action plan and monitoring the Council’s progress to net zero. The successful candidate will work with teams throughout the Council to ensure it is resilient to climate change, while supporting partners, businesses and communities to take forward carbon reduction, offsetting and adaptation initiatives.
Candidates will require a sound understanding of sustainable development, climate change monitoring and resource efficiency issues, including relevant legislation. They should also have experience of policy / strategy development and have excellent interpersonal skills, including presenting technical information.
This post is a permanent post for 36 hours a week and will sit within the Council’s Project Team.
This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.
Spelthorne Borough Council use the Microsoft Authenticator app as a secure way of accessing our network. Successful candidates will be required to use their own mobile device to download and use Authenticator.
