Are you looking for a chance lead a busy team where individual contributions are valued?

At Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, we are a friendly employer with an opening for an individual to lead our small environmental health team in the key areas of food safety, private sector housing, pollution control and health and safety.

This role would suit an experienced manager or equally someone looking to take their first step on a managerial career where you will be supported to learn new skills whilst practicing those gained elsewhere.

Since the role is intended to be the Council’s lead officer for food, a strong background in this subject area would be an advantage but we are willing to talk with anyone who believes they can quickly achieve that area of competence and who may be skilled in other areas of environmental health.

Whilst we are small, in our multi-disciplinary team, we support each other to achieve more than our size might suggest and we are not afraid of enforcement where that becomes necessary.

Perhaps you are looking to broaden your career or simply seeking an easier commute?  If so we welcome your interest and look forward to your application.

In return, we offer excellent office accommodation five minutes’ walk from Epsom railway station, heavily subsidised parking if needed, an attractive salary, performance related pay, CIEH subscription fees and eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.  Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is an equal opportunities employer.
