Runnymede Borough Council supports our NHS partners, Surrey Heartlands ICB and the EMED Group in enabling successful discharges and admissions to hospital. We are looking for a caring, compassionate, and committed community transport driver to join our ambitious service and provide accessible transport to residents across Runnymede and the Surrey Heartlands footprint.
You will be required to provide door-to-door transport for various groups of people, including older people, people with physical disabilities and children with special educational needs. Suitable candidates will need to have both practical skills and be sensitive to the needs and requirements of individuals using the service. Experience of working with different client groups would be desirable.
Our Transport Service is provided using fully accessible minibuses of up to 16 seats, so experience of driving minibuses or other vehicles of similar size or bigger is desirable, although not essential. In order to be able to drive our fleet of vehicles, you will need to have a D1 category on your driving license or have passed your driving test prior to January 1997.
As you will be working with members of the public daily, the ability to work with a positive approach, be flexible to meet the needs of each individual and work with a welcoming approach and a sense of humour is essential.
If you are a committed, self-motivated person who wants to make a difference to the lives of individuals in the communities we serve we are keen to hear from you.
Full training will be provided.
