At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

We are looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer, with the relevant skills or experience, to join our team with responsibilities for patrolling the Borough Council Car Parks conducting health & safety checks, ensuring machines are in good working order and taking enforcement action where required.

You will also be required to work in the Ashley Centre car parking office assisting customers and ensuring the smooth operation of the car park.

Previous experience of working in an enforcement role, as well as the ability to drive, are requirements for this position, however consideration will also be given to applicants who can demonstrate they have transferable skills.

You will be dealing with members of the public face to face ensuing you are polite and willing to offer support and advice, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations and should enjoy working outside.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to provide education, guidance and enforce where required. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an enforcement role, be able to work within a team, make decisions and demonstrate effective communication to Councillors, staff, key stakeholders, and members of the public.

You will be expected to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends to meet the operational needs of the service.

You will join Epsom and Ewell Council at an exciting time when you can help shape its future as we build back better following the pandemic and organisational change.

In return you will benefit from 24 days annual leave (rising to 29 after 5 years’ service), subsidised gym membership and car parking, payment of professional fees, entitlement to join the local government pension scheme, and non-contributory life assurance.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional and committed team and we look forward to receiving your application. For further details please go to www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk/careers or contact Richard Chevalier on 01372 732355.
