Woking Borough Council is undergoing significant change in how we deliver services to our communities. Digitalisation is at the heart of this transformation, and we need a talented and skilled professional to help shape and deliver our vision.

Working alongside our Data Analytics and Application Support teams, you will play a significant part in helping the Council to achieve our ambitions for data and insight use.

The successful candidate will have experience using Esri ArcGIS. Familiarity with spatial mapping in Idox Uniform is desired but not essential.

You will work within the Planning Policy team but provide the strategic lead on and develop, coordinate, promote and manage our GIS activities and projects. You will provide enabling support to GIS users throughout the Council, updating and implementing the corporate GIS action plan to take forward service improvements including online interactive and story maps.

Applicants should have a qualification in relevant subject/ discipline at degree level or equivalent and have experience of using spatial and geographic data and research.

Essential skills include excellent communication, IT, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work to deadlines under pressure. The ability to work on your own initiative and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement will be important.
