This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated contracts lawyer to join Guildford's dynamic legal team. 

Providing legal advice and support to the Council your role will cover a wide range of contract, procurement and company matters as well as supporting major projects. Working closely with the Procurement team you will help to deliver effective and efficient advice to all services across the Council.  As part of the in-house legal team you will have the opportunity to help to shape the future for Guildford whilst working on development projects and advising on governance matters.  This is a really exciting time with the changes being introduced by the Procurement Act 2023 and you will be helping to lead the way with the introduction of the new legislation.

The legal team at Guildford works closely together, regularly holding social events to bring the team together and celebrate their hard work and successes throughout the year.  It is also a diverse team with a wide range of experience, and you will have the opportunity to grow and expand your knowledge with the support of the team whilst providing mentoring and guidance to colleagues.    

You must be a qualified solicitor, barrister, legal executive (Fellow) or equivalent with experience of dealing with contract matters and procurement. 

Although you will be based from our offices close to Guildford Town Centre we offer flexible working and will consider both full time and part time applications.
