Corporate Procurement Manager
Corporate Procurement Manager
Salary range £59,453 - £63,372 per annum
Spelthorne Borough Council is a progressive, commercially focussed, and high performing local authority. We are working hard to deliver the best services for our residents and have an ambitious Corporate Plan. Spelthorne Borough is located 15 miles west of Central London and benefits from good connections across the capital and the South East. With both the river Thames & Ash, 750 acres of parks and open green spaces, and bustling towns and villages, Spelthorne Borough is a wonderful place to work, and live.
We have high aspirations for our area and are looking for a procurement professional with a proven track record of managing end to end procurements across a wide range of categories, many of which are high value, strategic and complex procurements to support the Council’s vision.
In addition, the Council has a large investment property portfolio, requiring the procurement of a variety of works and services contracts. There is a wide range of procurement activity needed to support the work of all service departments across the authority.
In addition to managing full procurement processes from start to finish, you will provide high quality support and advice to colleagues and officers of the Council and leadership and supervision to two other members of the team to assist with their learning and development. We are looking for a positive, flexible and self-motivated professional who contributes to good team spirit in the small, friendly Corporate Procurement team.
This is an exciting role within the Corporate Governance service, providing appropriate procurement advice and guidance to the Council, its officers and members. You will lead, inspire and motivate your team, promoting collaborative working and a culture of continuous improvement which delivers value for money, efficiency and cashable savings for the organisation.
About you
You will be a procurement professional with a demonstrable track record of managing large value, complex fully-compliant procurements to deliver successful outcomes: high quality goods, works and services providing demonstrable value for money. You are likely to have a good working knowledge of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and be aware of the implications of the new Procurement Act.
You will possess excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, allowing you to inform and influence others, to deliver the ambitions of our borough. You will be a clear and critical thinker, able to make the right decisions in a timely manner. You will proactively manage the performance of your team to offer a first class service across all procurement matters within the Council.
If you are looking for a role in a proud, responsive, open, and dependable organisation that is working to empower its communities, we would love to hear from you.
This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.
