Assistant Social Centre Manager

£21,316 to £23,376 per annum for 30 hours per week

Runnymede Borough Council is looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join a small team of committed staff at the Eileen Tozer Social Centre for Older People in Addlestone.

As part of this role you will be expected to support the provision of a welcoming, vibrant facility for residents from Addlestone and the surrounding area, offering a range of engaging and innovative services and activities to people whilst at the Centre.

You will have previous experience of working with and an understanding of the needs of older people. You will provide assistance to visitors of varying needs (including some personal care) and therefore it is essential you have well-developed people skills, patience and the ability to empathise.

In addition, you will deputise for the Centre Manager in their absence and be responsible for the smooth running of the Centre, including managing a team of staff and volunteers. Some experience of managing staff and/or volunteers is required, as is the ability to carry out basic administration tasks. A basic level of IT skill is required.

You will be a flexible and organised team player, able to work on your own initiative and keep calm under pressure.

This role will occasionally involve assisting with providing rest centre facilities in the event of a civil emergency.

As you will be working with vulnerable adults an enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

For an informal discussion about this role, please telephone Nicola Anderson on 01932 355707

Closing date: midnight 2nd June 2024

Interview date: TBC

Runnymede Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults with care support needs and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You may be requested to present your identification at the interview stage and there will be several checks conducted during the onboarding process inclusive of an enhanced DBS check for specified roles
