Job Title: Environmental Health Apprentice
Location of work: Town Hall/Earlswood Depot/Hybrid working (Homeworking)
Salary: £22,525.80 per annum
Basis: 4-year Fixed term contract (until completion of degree programme). Full time (36 hours per week). Working hours will vary dependent on University teaching programme but will be full time when not required to be at University i.e. non-taught days and academic holidays.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to study for a degree while earning a salary and gaining practical skills by working as a member of the Environmental Health Team. You will study with the University of Middlesex on their Environmental Health (Apprenticeship) BSc (Honours) course commencing September 2024, and on days when not attending taught classes will work in the team supporting all the environmental health functions, food safety, health and safety at work, public health, housing and pollution.

Building on the taught knowledge of the degree, you will develop the practical skills of an Environmental Health Practitioner, while learning from and supporting experienced professionals. Upon successful completion of the 4-year degree programme, you would have the opportunity to gain professional status as an Environmental Health Practitioner.

It will be a condition of any employment offer that you are accepted onto the degree programme by the University of Middlesex. Please see Job Pack for details of Entry Requirements for the degree programme. Support will be provided to liaise with the University for the application.

The successful candidate will be:
