Digital Programme Manager
Woking Borough Council has recently published our Digital Strategy 2022-25 demonstrating our ambition to become a digital leader. As part of this we are embarking on a digital transformation program to develop new ways of working across the Council to support our citizens and local businesses.
Are you an experienced project or programme manager with a passion for working in digital transformation to improve customer experience? We are looking for a proactive, resourceful, highly organised individual with excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. We have a great team in Transformation & Digital and are looking for someone who can complement our technical expertise and help us be as impactful as possible.
The role is interesting and varied. In any given week you will be working on project planning and highlight reports; organising and leading productive meetings (we do not meet, for the sake of meeting); designing and facilitating workshops, both online and in person; creating and delivering presentations, reports, and procurement documentation; and spending time with your colleagues, building and forging excellent working relationships.
We’re looking for someone who wants to work 2.5 days a week and we’re interested in hearing from people based all over the UK. We can agree very flexible working arrangements and even support largely remote working for the ideal candidate if they do not live locally. We know there are hugely talented people who need flexibility in their role and may not live in or near Woking, and we want to hear from them!
This is an ideal career opportunity to work within a professional team delivering Digital systems to develop and promote the digital provision of services to the residents of the borough.
Woking Borough Council offers in return a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, training opportunities, membership of the local government pension scheme plus many more excellent benefits.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Anita Flavell, Head of Digital Services on anita.flavell@woking.gov.uk or 01483 743309.
Interviews will take place week commencing 10 June 2024.
