About the Role
Working within our Revenues Recovery Team, you will ensure the prompt and efficient collection and recovery of Council Tax liabilities, responsible for the initiation of Reminders, Final Notices and Summonses in line with the Recovery Timetable in respect of recovery of Council Tax.


You will provide support, guidance, and advice to the wider team, including non-standard, complex and difficult cases. Monitoring arrears cases, ensuring the most appropriate form of recovery action is applied. You will liaise with external enforcement agents and solicitors, including reconciliation of cases and payments. You will be the designated Authorised Officer for attending court on behalf of the Council in relation to court related matters such as liability orders, committals etc for both Council Tax and NNDR and managing uncollectable cases through Committal, Insolvency, Charging Order, etc.


About the Person

  • Experience and detailed understanding of the recovery and enforcement legislation in relation to Council tax
  • An approachable attitude with empathy and patience but show initiative and stay calm under pressure
  • Good time management and organisational skills to manage your own workload whilst being able to provide support to the wider team
  • High-quality Customer Service interaction and demonstrate excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent IT skills, using a variety of systems, including Microsoft Office applications and the use of revenues software NEC Solutions
