Resources Caseworker
We are seeking to appoint a Resources Caseworker (Legal Assistant) for 13.5 hours per week for an interesting, varied and challenging role. Working within a team of Caseworkers you will provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative service.
What you need to succeed in this role:
At a minimum, you will be able to demonstrate:
- A proactive approach, with strong administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with people at all levels
- A conscientious attitude and excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills, the ability to multi task and prioritise work effectively
- A good standard of numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- The ability to work as part of a team
- The desire to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and processes
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Process right to buy applications, liaising with teams across the Council to ensure deadlines are met and applications are dealt with in compliance with relevant legislation
- Instruct the Council’s valuers to report on the market value of the properties concerned
- Dealing with various matters relating to ex Council houses/flats e.g. consents for alterations, right of first refusal etc.
- Dealing with general queries from other teams within the Council in respect of land ownership, boundary queries etc.
- Maintain accurate records and update the relevant systems and databases
- Prepare Legal documents for signing/sealing under instruction from Legal Specialists
- Respond to email enquiries from conveyancing solicitors regarding management packs, co-ordinating the responses from specialists across the organisation
- Provide support as required for other officers within the caseworker team
