Information Assurance Officer (IT and Information Security)
Do you have demonstrable experience of implementing information assurance and security in a large organisation, preferably within the public sector?
Are you a self-motivated individual who can work as part of a strong team as well as being able to use your own initiative.

Working closely with the Head of ICT and the Data protection officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the council is following best practice standards in relation to information assurance and ICT security in line with statutory and government requirements. You will be required to work closely with all services , promoting and embedding good practice and behaviours and supporting with training, guidance and specialist advice. You will also have the opportunity to shape council ICT policies and governance management ensuring a robust foundation to our approach.
Key responsibilities will include:
To lead on ICT Strategy for Information Assurance and IT policy development
Governance monitoring Security management & disaster recovery planning
Project / change management
Disaster recovery
Specialist advice to the organisation
Prepare and present reports to Council committees and other internal and external meetings
This is a hybrid role with staff expected to work in an agile way with a minimum of 50% of time spent within our Guildford office.
