Fordbridge Kitchen Porter

£12,277 – £12,778 pro rata (20 hours per week)

Spelthorne Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Kitchen Porter to work five days per week, Monday-Friday. The role will be based at The Fordbridge Community Centre in Ashford, but you may be required to cover at our other centres. 

This is a role that requires you to communicate well with others and be adaptable to ever changing priorities. Your role will include working with older people who are often very vulnerable so will need a caring disposition and must be able to remain calm in all circumstances. Your duties will include operating in an environment that requires very high standards in relation to food hygiene, production and presentation.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for customer facing posts. These posts fall within the scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The Council, therefore, has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
