Senior Licensing Officer
Woking Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our busy and dedicated Licensing Team as a Senior Licensing Officer on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Environmental Health, in this role you'll be responsible for alcohol, entertainment, gambling, taxi and private hire, and sex establishments, ensuring licences are processed and granted within the statutory timeframe; investigating and taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary. The postholder will also provide advice and assistance to members of the public, elected members and other Council departments, prepare Committee reports and deal with complaints and enquiries. You will also line manage the Licensing Officer. Attendance at evening meetings and the flexibility to work out of hours when necessary, is required.
We are looking for someone with experience in Licensing and a knowledge of licensing legislation and process. This is a varied role suited to someone with excellent organisational and customer service skills, and ideally with experience of regulation and enforcement. It is important that you have a positive and confident outlook, experience of working with diverse client groups and can communicate accurately and effectively with a wide range of people.
This role requires the post holder to hold a valid full driver’s licence.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The Council will offer assistance and further details will be in the job application pack.
