Salary £33,960 - £39,355 per annum (37 hours per week) plus essential car user allowance

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communications skills.  A passion for delivering excellent customer service, who has a “can do” attitude and is a good team player.  You will need to be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of Income management.

The Housing Income Specialist provide a vital link to other service units enabling the Council to deliver a comprehensive housing and income service. We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team of four front line Housing Income Specialist, in the Landlord services, Income Collection team.

Acting as the first point of customer contact the role of Housing Income Specialist is to be responsible for rent income collection and associated charges in a defined geographical area within the borough. The role involves   dealing with sensitive issues, often within a pressurised environment where strong negotiation skills and having assertiveness in difficult situations are essential requirements.    Previous experience of giving debt advice and/ or welfare benefit advice would be desirable.
